"It is important to note that the majority of high-ranking members of the British monarchy are greatly relieved by the announcement that the two former royals, Harry and Meghan, will not be attending the birthday celebrations of His Majesty, The King," stated the royal expert in an article released on Monday, November 13th.
"Why would anyone require individuals who have been harmed or affected by something negative to be present during a gathering of relatives?" Neil discussed Meghan and her husband, who resigned as active members of the royal family in 2020 and have since cut ties with their relatives overseas by their shocking actions. The user mentioned the Netflix docuseries and Prince Harry's memoir titled "Spare".
Neil highlighted King Charles' desire to mend his troubled connection with Harry, stating: "This is a predicament that confronts many senior members of the royal family: although His Majesty, the King, is eager to reconcile with his son, this is a more significant challenge."
The British journalist revisited Meghan's previous remarks in a magazine interview, where she asserted that Harry "had lost his father." Neil remarked that this statement deeply affected His Majesty, the King, who has consistently supported his youngest son, and perceived it as the most damaging public criticism of his fatherhood.
"Half a decade ago, King Charles could not have foreseen the precise outcome of this momentous birthday celebration." Nevertheless, attaining such an age has prompted him to acknowledge, as per reliable sources, the arduous nature of being a reigning monarch," Neil observed.
The esteemed journalist stated that he had anticipated that his troubled youngest son, Prince Harry, may have changed his mind and, at the very least, chosen to come back to his birth country, the United Kingdom, to commemorate such a significant birthday in the company of prominent members of the British royal family. Unfortunately, it did not happen as expected.
Neil states that Harry has no intention of joining his family's celebration in the near future. Harry is waiting for a highly improbable and "very public apology" to his wife before he will contemplate reconciling with his family.
