Embarrassment for Meghan Markle: Australian Comedians Deliver Brutal Mockery, Turning Her into a Laughing Stock

Meghan Markle found herself facing a lack of support during her appearance on the Australian comedy program "Have You Been Paying Attention?" as she became the subject of brutal mockery. Comedians Sam Pang and Tim McDonald targeted Meghan after quiz master Tom Gleisner asked the panel to name the first TV show she appeared on following her widely-discussed interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Tim was the first to buzz in, humorously suggesting "Better Home Recers and Gardens," referencing the Australian show "Better Homes and Gardens." Sam followed suit, buzzing in and cheekily suggesting "Cancer Family Feud." The comedians erupted in laughter once again, only for Tom to clarify that Meghan had actually appeared on a fundraising program called "Vax Live."

Lately, both Meghan and Harry have become somewhat of a laughing stock. The more they engage in public discussions and controversies, the more material they provide for humorists. Recently, Meghan faced a royal roasting on "Saturday Night Live" in a skit that took aim at Prince William and Princess Kate's Christmas card. The Wells family's Christmas card, featuring William, Kate, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis in matching outfits, had caused a stir among royal enthusiasts.

On "SNL," cast member Colin Jost pointed out a peculiar detail in the card, using it as the basis for a joke about Meghan. He mentioned that the Christmas photo released by the royal family featured a questionable Photoshop job where Prince Louis' finger appeared to be missing. Jost humorously suggested that Meghan had a spare finger they could use, and a pixelated photo of Meghan seemingly making an offensive gesture was shown alongside the Wells' Christmas card.

This is not the first time Meghan has been the target of jokes. Back in March, "SNL" poked fun at her attendance at the coronation, with comedian Michael Che making a tongue-in-cheek comment about speculations surrounding Meghan and Harry attending King Charles III's coronation. The sketch depicted Meghan dressed in a maid's outfit, joking that she had been offered a starting salary of $15 an hour to attend the coronation.

In addition to "SNL," other TV shows like "South Park" and "Family Guy" have also taken shots at Meghan and Harry. "South Park" satirized the couple's alleged demands for privacy on the world stage, while "Family Guy" made fun of their multi-million pound deal with Netflix and suggested that influencing was one of the few ways they could make money after stepping down as senior working royals in 2020.

Furthermore, late-night comedy shows widely ridiculed Harry following the release of his book. During SNL's "Weekly Update," comedians James Austin Johnson and Devin Walker played British rappers who expressed support for Harry and criticized the exploitative tabloid press in Britain. They defended him, jokingly referring to their familiarity with Harry since their days at Eton.
