Meghan Markle May Have to Identify 'Royal Racists' Under Oath

In the ongoing litigation, there arises a potential necessity for Meghan Markle to divulge the identities of the individuals implicated in the royal racism controversy while under oath. The legal representatives of Samantha Markle may initiate a direct inquiry into Meghan Markle's contentious statements from the 2021 Oprah Winfrey interview as part of an ongoing defamation lawsuit. Samantha, Meghan's half-sister, is pursuing a legal course against her on the grounds of purportedly making injurious assertions during the sensational television special. Peter Ticktin, her legal counsel, posits that the allegations of racism made by Meghan and Prince Harry against undisclosed members of the royal family demand a deeper investigation.

Ticktin contends that this line of inquiry could offer insight into the reasons behind Meghan's estrangement from her own kin. He asserts that Meghan appears to exhibit a callous indifference to the potential harm inflicted on lives. In his words, as reported by The Sun on Sunday: "The matter of royal racism warrants a thorough examination. There exist motives behind her alienation from her family and her subsequent antagonism toward them."

He further expounds, stating, "This is an individual who harbors the desire to utter injurious statements without any genuine concern for the ramifications they may have on her family members. She appears unmoved by the prospect of causing harm to the monarchy itself."

Should the legal proceedings advance, Ticktin asserts his intention to insist on Meghan's formal, legally-binding deposition under oath. Such a deposition could potentially compel her to disclose the identities of those allegedly involved in discussions concerning the complexion of Archie, her son.

Samantha claims to have endured global ridicule due to the unfounded assertions made in Meghan's Oprah interview and the Sussexes' Netflix production. Meghan asserted that she had grown up as a sole offspring, implying that Samantha only adopted the family surname subsequent to her romantic involvement with Prince Harry.

However, it is noteworthy that the original lawsuit against Meghan was dismissed by the court earlier this year. The amended defamation lawsuit has set a trial date scheduled for November 2023.
