Scarlett Johansson Cancels Meghan Markle's Name from Museum Gala, Sparks Roar

Hollywood star and activist Scarlett Johansson made headlines when she reportedly removed Meghan Markle's name from the guest list of the American Museum of Natural History Gala in New York City. Attending the event with her husband Colin Jost, Johansson used her influence and connections to prevent The Duchess of Sussex from attending this prestigious fundraising Gala, which supports the Museum's educational and science programs. Sources reveal that Johansson was quite upset when she discovered that Meghan Markle, who currently resides in the US with Prince Harry and their two children, had received an invitation to the gala from the Museum's Board of Trustees.

Johansson, a vocal advocate for human rights and environmental causes, argued with the board, contending that Meghan Markle did not belong at the gala. She expressed the view that Markle was more of a self-serving opportunist than a genuine philanthropist, accusing her of exploiting and harming the royal family. Furthermore, Johansson, a close friend of Prince William and Kate Middleton, reportedly felt disgusted by Meghan Markle's involvement in the allegations of racism against the royal family, as well as her connection to the controversial book by Omid Scobie, which exposed secrets and scandals within the monarchy.

Johansson saw Markle as hypocritical and deceitful, believing that she used her royal status and influence to advance her own agenda without respecting the traditions and values of the monarchy. Colin Jost, Johansson's husband and co-head writer and Weekend Update anchor on Saturday Night Live, also supported her stance. Known for his witty and sarcastic humor, Jost had mocked and ridiculed Meghan Markle and Prince Harry in his sketches and jokes on the show.

This snub by Scarlett Johansson, whom Markle considered a friend and ally, left Meghan Markle devastated and humiliated. She had hoped to attend the Gala as a means to enhance her image and mingle with influential individuals, making this exclusion a significant blow.

The American Museum of Natural History Gala was a lavish and grand affair, attended by celebrities and high-society figures, including Seth Meyers, Tina Fey, Hilaria Baldwin, and Blythe Danner. Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost, looking stunning in their black and white outfits, were the center of attention and admiration at the event, while Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, who were excluded, had to watch from a distance, missing out on one of the year's most prominent social events.
