A royal author, however, believes the Duchess would face a significant difficulty in producing a genuine account of her life. In an interview with Newsweek, Omid Scobie, who co-wrote 2020's Finding Freedom about the Sussexes' departure from royal duties, assessed what would be required for Meghan to write a successful biography. Scobie believes that in order to "gain the reader's respect," an author must provide a "completely human" and "transparent" image of themselves.
He stated that memoirs require candor, including possibly "embarrassing" aspects, rather than a "varnished image" that the subject seeks to convey. Scobie feels Harry's book will be more intriguing because he "has always been a very candid man, candid man."
Scobie, on the other hand, referred to Meghan's "more curated take on what her image is and how it should be." This indicates at the difficulty she may encounter in accurately recalling her experiences inside the royal family in a future book, if she decides to write one.
