Aaron Korsh's Laughter Erupts as Meghan Markle Proposes Replacing Gina Torres in Suits Reboot: Who Does She Think She Is?

Meghan Markle's PR agency responded to the Suit's cast members' interview on the Golden Globes red carpet with a new PR announcement. Suit stars Gabriel Macht and Gina Torres teased Meghan and confirmed that she couldn't return for a brand new spin-off. However, Meghan's spokesperson countered this today, stating that she could potentially earn more than £300,000 per episode in a Suit spin-off amid a cash crisis. The representative mentioned that the Duchess of Sussex reportedly earned £37,000 per episode during her time on Suits, recording more than 100 episodes.

This would put her annual salary at £330,000 as part of her contract with the show. Even now, Meghan continues to earn royalties from her appearances, receiving compensation every time the episodes air in the US or on the NBA Peacock streaming service. Additionally, there are expectations that Meghan will also receive compensation as the show moves to Netflix. PR expert Maya Ry sees this as a strategic move for Meghan, believing that a return to the show would provide her with an opportunity to reconnect with a loyal fan base and potentially attract new viewers.

However, if Meghan were to return, it would likely be for a cameo role rather than a longer storyline. Despite this speculation, Suits creator Aaron Korsh denied Meghan's role in the new spin-off, stating that he and NBC Universal are working on a new Suits show. While few details have been revealed, anticipation is high for a return to the world of Harvey Specter and Mike Ross, but Meghan won't be included.

This aligns with the revelations made by the Suit's actors at the Golden Globes awards last week, where Aaron confessed that a cast member had contacted him for a role in the new season. Meghan reportedly asked to replace Gina Torres to star in the Suit's reboot, but Aaron expressed indifference, not revealing the person's name. Fans, however, speculate that it's Meghan.

Commenting on Meghan's potential return to acting, Gabriel Macht stated that bringing her back would require a significant financial investment. He emphasized that without Harvey and Mike, there is no Suits. Even Gina Torres had her spin-off called Pearson, which was canceled after a season. Macht highlighted the risk of investing a substantial amount in something uncertain of its success.

Considering the financial aspect, a revival may not be a long-term show, and the uncertainty surrounding the success of such ventures is evident. While platforms like Spotify and Netflix have made significant investments, especially in 2023, there is a cautious approach due to the recent price hike and the need to cut back on original output. The likelihood of Netflix paying Meghan $300,000 per episode for a potential revival seems increasingly unlikely in the current landscape.
