Meghan Markle Faces Major Career Downfall as Key Business Deal Crumbles

Meghan Markle is celebrating a significant career milestone as her investment in the coffee brand Clever Blends pays off with a major deal with the renowned American retailer, Target. In the early days of 2024, Meghan, 42, has already marked a noteworthy achievement with Clever Blends, the coffee brand she became a stakeholder in three years ago.  Meghan, who invested an undisclosed amount in Clever Blends, has been actively promoting the brand in which she holds a stake. Last year, she even featured in an advertisement for the company.

Clever Blends is now making its products available at Target, with three of its latte flavors, including chai and matcha, hitting the shelves at £14.21 ($17.99). Launched in 2016, Clever Blends caught Meghan's attention after she reportedly tried their products at a popup store in 2017 before investing in the company in 2019.  Expressing her support for Clever Blends, Meghan told Fortune, "This investment is in support of a passionate female entrepreneur who prioritizes building community alongside her business. I'm proud to invest in Hannah's commitment to sourcing ethical ingredients and creating a product that I personally love and has a holistic approach to wellness." CEO Hannah Mendu also acknowledged Meghan's investment, expressing gratitude for finding both funding and advisers who deeply care about the company.

As a stakeholder, Meghan has utilized her connections to promote Clever Blends. She gifted a basket of the brand's products to her neighbor and friend Oprah Winfrey, who then endorsed Clever Blends online. Meghan shared a clip on her Instagram last year, visiting the company and enjoying one of their hot drinks. In November, she endorsed the brand, describing it as one of her favorite ways to start and end each day.

More recently, Meghan featured in a social media advert for Clever Blends, shared on the brand's Instagram account. In the clip, the mother of two took on the role of an intern, stacking boxes and making hot drinks. Co-founder Hannah talked to the camera, expressing gratitude to employees, and the fun advert ended with Meghan failing to fist bump a colleague, bursting into laughter, and walking off camera.
