While the couple has collaborated on joint ventures like their Spotify podcasts and Netflix docuseries, Meghan's potential return to acting may mean that she will have to forgo some of the school runs. According to reports, NBCUniversal has received approval to create "Suits: Los Angeles." Meghan's close friend and the show's creator, Aaron Korsh, has purportedly already penned several episodes, with a female lead character resembling Meghan's previous role as Rachel. Additionally, Meghan has allegedly been offered the opportunity to direct an episode of the show.
An insider revealed to the Express, "This is shaping up to be one of the biggest TV deals of the year. Meghan is in a commanding position. They want her back, and they are prepared to pay what it takes to get her."
If Meghan accepts this tailor-made dream role, production could commence as early as next month, leading to a significant change in the family's routine. Meghan previously mentioned in an interview with the Cut that her son Archie enthusiastically greets her, exclaiming, "Momma, Momma, Momma!" when she picks him up from school.
When Meghan Markle left "Suits" is a commonly asked question. "Suits" is a legal drama set in New York that aired from 2011 to 2019. Meghan portrayed the character Rachel Zane for seven seasons, from 2011 until 2018. She left the show during the season seven finale, where her character married Mike Ross, played by Patrick J. Adams, before moving to Seattle. The on-screen wedding coincided with Meghan's real-life marriage to Prince Harry, marking her retirement from acting.
During her engagement to Prince Harry in 2017, Meghan expressed her perspective on leaving "Suits," stating, "I don't see it as giving anything up. I just see it as a change. It's a new chapter, right? And also, keep in mind, I've been working on [Suits] for seven years. We were very, very fortunate to have that sort of longevity on a series. I've ticked this box, and I feel very proud of the work I've done there, and now it's time to work with [Harry] as a team."
While Meghan has fond memories of her time on the show, she recognizes the importance of transitioning from her acting career to her new role. She mentioned during a panel talk at the ATX Television Festival, "We were in a group email the other day, and I was saying we'd all lived in the same corporate housing – so on top of working together, we were living together – which makes a whole different dynamic, I think. We just became this whole family right out the gate."
Several of Meghan's former co-stars from "Suits," including Patrick Adams, Gabriel Macht, Sarah Rafferty, Abigail Spencer, Gina Torres, and Rick Hoffman, even attended her royal wedding, reflecting the strong bond formed during their time on the show.
During Meghan's audition for the role, she had low expectations of landing the job. In a 2013 interview with Larry King, Meghan candidly shared, "I had gone and auditioned and thought it was one of the worst auditions I had ever done. I didn't realize that, behind closed doors, they disagreed with me on that fact and brought me back to test for it."
Little did Meghan know at the time that "Suits" would be a life-changing opportunity for her. In an interview with Glamour UK, the down-to-earth Meghan expressed her gratitude, saying, "I've done so many pilots that have never seen the light of day, and we didn't know what Suits was going to become at the time. So it's been such a good transition!" The show's success exceeded her expectations, and it marked a significant turning point in her career.
