Prince Harry Comforts Tearful Meghan Markle as Hollywood Rejects Her for Dream Role

Meghan Markle is said to have missed out on a coveted role in one of the most significant TV deals in history, sparking speculation about the next steps for the Sussexes. The Daily Express US can now unveil that a reboot of the popular TV series "Suits" has a role specifically crafted for Meghan. In a substantial offer, Meghan Markle is being courted to make a return to television in a blockbuster spin-off of her successful show "Suits." Senior network executives have disclosed that negotiations with the Duchess of Sussex and her powerhouse talent agency, WME, are ongoing. The new series, tentatively titled "Suits Los Angeles," has been greenlit by Universal Studios, with episodes already scripted by Megan's friend Aaron Korsh, the creator of the original series that ran from 2011 to 2019.

The source reveals that Megan is in a strong negotiating position, and the network is eager to secure one of the biggest TV deals of the year. The official announcement is expected to be made next month, followed by the commencement of production on the new show. Studio executives are keen to capitalize on the renewed interest in "Suits" after the original series became available on Netflix, topping America's TV download chart for 15 consecutive weeks.

There have been persistent rumors about Meghan's return to her role as Rachel Zane, and her former co-star Patrick J Adams fueled speculation by expressing interest in a reformed cast during this month's Golden Globes. While Megan herself did not directly address the question in a recent interview with Vanity Fair, she praised the show, saying it was a great experience working with a fantastic cast and crew for seven seasons.

The upcoming spin-off, "Suits Los Angeles," is set to feature a female lead, Erica, who bears a striking resemblance to Megan's previous character, Rachel. Described as tailor-made and a dream role for the Duchess, Erica works for an LA-based entertainment law firm, is in her 30s, a black SoCal native, and a Harvard Law alum. The character is portrayed as ambitious, excelling in closing clients but facing challenges elsewhere.

Despite email requests for comment, spokespeople for Universal and Meghan and Prince Harry's production company did not respond. However, Universal International Studios boss Beatric Springborn publicly confirmed the production of "Suits Los Angeles" at an industry conference before Christmas. The spin-off is expected to maintain the same time frame as the original, focusing on compelling storytelling and character development alongside the visually appealing aspects of the show.
