Spotify executives were reportedly underwhelmed by the series, which explored stereotypes against women. Following the decision, Bill Simmons, Spotify's Head of Podcast Innovation and Monetization, criticized the couple, stating, "I wish I had been involved in the Harry and Meghan leave Spotify negotiation. That's the podcast we should have launched with them—the grifters."
