Meghan thought it was the perfect opportunity for some posing and PR for the cameras, treating it like one of her cable TV show premieres. Have some dignity – you're supposed to be royalty; try acting like it for once instead of chasing photo ops like a pair of fame-starved hustlers. And could they be any more obvious in trying to schmooze up to Hollywood heavy hitters, like the CEO of Paramount Pictures? Your thirstiness is just embarrassing at this point. Making a red carpet appearance in Jamaica, a country that recently voted to remove the British monarch as the head of state, is awkward timing. Out of respect for the royal family, one would think they'd decline attending. But for Harry and Meghan, publicity always trumps tact and decency.
The hypocrisy is glaring when you consider how much they complain about unwanted media attention. Spare me the crocodile tears – you're perfectly happy to lap up fame and camera flashes when it suits your agenda. This desperate need for validation gives me serious secondhand embarrassment. Their thirst to cling onto public interest and broker more Hollywood deals seems to stem from a realization that their relevance is waning. Yet, the media content offered lacks substance and value. At a certain point, they need to accept that lucrative media careers might not be in the cards for them.
If Harry and Meghan were smart, they would take a step back, focus on raising their family away from the spotlight, and stop desperately chasing the next vanity project. The hypocritical hunger for fame while claiming to value privacy isn't fooling anyone, and the public will only tolerate so much hollow hype.
Alas, the allure of flashing bulbs and designer gowns seems too intoxicating for Meghan to willingly give up. She appears determined to milk every last ounce of leverage from their royal links, regardless of the damage it may cause to the monarchy and Harry's family ties.
