Kate Middleton in Discomfort as Prince William is Spotted Kissing Ex-Girlfriend at Private Event

Princess Kate found herself attending the Royal Wedding solo, as Prince William was occupied at another event with his ex-girlfriend. This scenario echoes a past incident where the Princess of Wales had attended a royal wedding without her then-boyfriend Prince William by her side.  Back in May 2008, Princess Kate stood in for Prince William at Peter Phillips' wedding to his now ex-wife, Autumn. Despite not being engaged at the time, Kate was present at the event, representing her future husband while he was unable to attend due to another wedding in Kenya. This private event was the wedding of William's ex-girlfriend Jaa Craig's brother.

During this time, a source emphasized that Kate's attendance without William should not be viewed as disrespectful to the family, particularly Peter, the groom. The source revealed that Prince William had a prior long-term engagement abroad, and despite the unfortunate clash, he had communicated with his cousin Peter, who was understanding of the situation.

Although Kate attended the wedding alone, she was in good company with William's brother, Prince Harry, and his then-girlfriend, Chelsea Davy. For the occasion, Kate opted for a pale pink jacket, a sheer black top, and a black skirt, complemented by a veil bowler hat.

In a similar fashion, back in 2016, Prince William had also traveled to Kenya to attend Jaa's wedding. Apart from Peter Phillips' wedding, Princess Kate had attended Lady Rose Windsor's wedding in July 2000, where she also dined alone.

Peter Phillips, as the first of the late Queen's grandchildren to tie the knot, had his wedding in Windsor. The guest list included 300 of Peter and Autumn's close friends and family, with Autumn's family arriving from her native Canada. Reflecting on the big day, Autumn, who is the mother of Peter's daughters Savannah (13) and Isla (11), shared, "I was so afraid to walk down the aisle, but when I got to the top of the stairs and saw how many people had come out to support us from our friends and family, I stopped being afraid and actually enjoyed it."
