King Charles Makes Controversial Move: Stripping Prince Harry and Meghan Markle of Royal Titles Despite Their Visit to the UK

Debate Surrounding the Removal of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Royal Titles Despite Their Continued Status as Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The potential stripping of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's royal titles has sparked a debate, with opinions divided on the significance and implications of such a move. Despite stepping down as senior working members of the royal family, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle still retain their titles as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

During a discussion on Sky Australia, Sky News host James Mcferson argued that everyone in the royal family would be happier if the Duke and Duchess of Sussex officially relinquished their titles. He claimed that the couple has done nothing but express complaints since their birth or marriage into the royal family, suggesting that removing their titles would appease them and allow them to move on. "Get them out of their," he said.

However, royal commentator Angela Mullard countered Mcferson's viewpoint, asserting that stripping Prince Harry and Meghan Markle of their royal titles would be meaningless and futile. She pointed out that their titles have already been diminished in the court of public opinion, as their actions and statements have shaped public perception. Mullard argued that there is no need for a formal removal of their titles since they are not seen actively embracing their royal status, citing Prince Harry's self-penned memoir as an example.

Mullard also emphasized that Prince Harry deserves sympathy for the challenges he faced throughout his life, particularly the traumatic experience of walking behind his mother's coffin as a 12-year-old boy. She highlighted the lack of privacy he endured and questioned the impact of taking away his title, asking who he would become. "It will just be Harry Wales," she noted.

In a vote among a studio panel, the majority (nine out of twelve members) expressed support for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle retaining their titles. One committee member suggested that although they should be allowed to keep their titles, their choices and actions have clearly demonstrated their stance on their royal roles. Another participant argued that if the couple were to separate, Prince Harry should have the opportunity to return to the royal family.

While some participants acknowledged that retaining their royal titles may not hold significant value, they saw no harm in allowing them to keep the titles. It was recognized that the debate over their titles reflects the broader choices and decisions made by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in their lives.
