Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Accused of 'Misleading' Fans with Website Rebrand

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have recently faced criticism following the naming of their new platform, Sussex.com, which pays tribute to their royal titles. The decision sparked a backlash, with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry being accused of appropriating the name of the county.  According to The Sun, British socialite Lady Colin Campbell expressed her disapproval, stating that the couple's use of the name Sussex is not only an imposition on the people of Sussex but also implies a connection to the county that does not exist.

Lady Colin Campbell remarked, "Their website has nothing to do with the county, but the domain name gives the misleading impression that it does. The geographic association of their title may share a name with the county, but they are not representatives of Sussex, nor do many of its residents share their values."

In response to the critiques, a source close to Harry and Meghan, as reported by the Daily Mail, defended their choice of website name. The insider emphasized that Prince Harry and Meghan are, in fact, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, stating that it is their official title and family name. Despite the backlash, the couple stands by their decision to incorporate their royal title into their platform's name, Sussex.com.
