Despite no longer being a senior member of the royal family, Prince Harry
maintains his position as fifth in line to the throne. Back in
September 1984, Prince Harry entered the world as third in line to the throne,
following his father, the current King Charles, and his older brother, Prince
William. However, when Prince William and Princess Kate welcomed their first
child, Prince George, in 2013, Harry was pushed down the line to make way for
his nephew. The birth of Princess Charlotte in 2015 caused another shift,
further pushing Harry down the succession line.
During a 2017 interview, Harry was asked about his feelings regarding being moved down the line. His response was both heartfelt and sweet. Speaking to Royal expert Angela Levin, Harry expressed, "The reason I'm in fifth place now is because of my nephew and niece, and I could never wish them away. They are the most amazing things ever."
Harry also shared his aspirations of becoming a father one day. Moreover, he expressed his support for George and Charlotte's potential involvement in the Armed Forces, citing his own positive experience with military service. Since stepping back as a senior royal in 2020, Harry and his wife Meghan Markle have welcomed two children, Archie, 4, and Lilibet, 2.
