Trevor Noah Rejects Meghan Markle's Alleged Proposal for Grammy Tickets in a Light-hearted Manner

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who have been striving to secure significant deals independent of the royal family, appear to have faced setbacks in achieving their goals despite their efforts. The Sussexes, who signed lucrative agreements with streaming giants and sought to establish connections with artists in their quest to conquer Hollywood after their surprising departure from the royal family in 2020, reportedly did not receive invitations to the 2024 Grammys. According to The Mirror, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle skipped this year's Grammy Awards, possibly due to a biting joke made by host Trevor Noah.

The presenter has hosted the prestigious music industry ceremony, often referred to as the "Oscars of music," for the past four years and returned once again on Sunday. There had been widespread speculation that Harry and Meghan would attend the Grammys as part of their efforts to improve their public image after a year filled with controversy and negative press. However, the Sussexes were noticeably absent from the event.

The Mirror reported that Harry and Meghan chose to avoid the ceremony out of concern that they might become the subject of Trevor's jokes. Last year, the South African comedian made a humorous remark about the couple during the Awards, and there have been rumors that Harry and Meghan declined the invitation to the Grammys in response to that biting dig. One of the most memorable punchlines from last year's show was directed at Prince Harry, whose highly anticipated memoir "Spare" had been released just before the awards and was a hot topic at the time.

Taking the stage at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, Trevor introduced British comedian James Corden while referencing a part of Harry's book where he revealed he had suffered frostbite during a 2011 trip to the North Pole. Trevor humorously stated that James was living proof that a man can move from London to LA without telling everyone about his frostbitten penis. Just a few months before making the Sussexes the punchline of his joke, Trevor unknowingly appeared as the final guest on Meghan's Spotify podcast "Archewell Audio," which was eventually canceled after the couple's deal with the streaming giant fell through.

During the podcast interview, Trevor did not discuss his mother Patricia or the life lessons he learned from her during his childhood. He did recall a lesson she imparted to him, saying, "Remember, you can be the head of your household as a man without exerting more power than your woman. Being a man has nothing to do with how you wield your power in the household; it's just about fulfilling your role." The comedian also touched on the additional pressures that societal expectations place on men, acknowledging that these ideas often limit men themselves.

Trevor's appearance on "Archewell Audio" followed some backlash he received when he made a comment about King Charles II and the monarchy's colonial history in the aftermath of Queen Elizabeth's death. In light of these occurrences, Harry and Meghan's absence from the Grammys prompted speculation and anticipation for the reasons behind their nonattendance at the esteemed music event. Apart from the fact that Prince Harry was not nominated for any awards, it seems they simply were not invited to the Grammys.
