According to royal insider Christopher Anderson, the ailing Princess of Wales underwent planned abdominal surgery in January, but she and her brother-in-law have not spoken amidst swirling conspiracy theories surrounding Kate's health. "There was once a relationship, a friendship, a very close one between Harry and Kate," Anderson told US Weekly on Wednesday. "I'm sure he's concerned about her as well, but I know that she wants to have nothing to do with them," he added. Anderson also mentioned that Catherine has her own problems now and still feels betrayed by Harry, much like her husband Prince William and King Charles do. Since stepping away from the royal family in 2020, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle have made less than flattering allegations against the institution, further fracturing the family's dynamic.
"Every time he's gone there, he's been given the cold shoulder, and he's aware of that," Anderson said about Harry's visits back to the UK. "He fears it'll just be the same situation all over." The author of "William and Kate: A Royal Love Story" alleged that the exiled prince hasn't reached out amid Kate's health concerns, stating, "My understanding is he hasn't, and it's at a stalemate. They're both on opposite sides of this wall, and nobody has the courage to leap over it and really make an honest attempt."
Anderson's claims come after another insider revealed to People magazine on Wednesday that Catherine's recovery is still shrouded in silence at Kensington Palace, where she is currently resting. The palace had previously stated that significant updates would be provided, but rumors have been circulating due to Catherine's absence from public duties. However, it is expected that she will return to her royal duties after Easter.
In the midst of all the speculation, a spokesman for the Prince of Wales emphasized that Prince William's focus remains on his work rather than on social media.
