The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's latest venture into two additional series for Netflix has been revealed. The couple spent a weekend in Florida for Prince Harry's annual charity polo match, where they were followed by a Netflix crew.
As part of the five-year deal they signed with the streaming giant in 2020, estimated at 80 million dollars, Harry and Meghan have agreed to new film projects. The first series will feature The Duchess celebrating the joys of cooking, gardening, entertaining, and friendship. The second series will focus on professional polo, with the Duke hoping to bring the sport to a wider audience by showcasing what it takes to be a competitive player.
Meanwhile, Meghan's new home cooking show is expected to tie in with her new brand, American Riviera Orchard, launched in March.
The couple's various projects over the past couple of months stand in stark contrast to life behind the walls of Buckingham Palace and the UK they left behind. While the Prince and Princess of Wales spent the Easter holiday with their three children out of the public eye after Katherine announced she was undergoing preventative chemotherapy, Prince Harry looked delighted as he took part in the Sentebale Polo Cup, a match held every year in aid of the charity he co-founded in 2006.
Polo has been a staple of modern Royal history, with Prince Philip, Prince Charles, and Prince William all being skilled at the sport associated with the elite.
The new shows, to be produced by the Duke and Duchess, are in their early stages, with titles and release dates to be announced in the coming months. They follow the launch of the couple's revamped Royal brand, complete with a new coat of arms and online overhaul, indicating their desire to carve out their own path financially.
Meanwhile, Meghan's new lifestyle brand represents a long-awaited return to independence after her many years as a working member of the royal family. The brand, which revolves around the couple's poetic story, took at least a year to prepare.
So far, the brand consists of a logo, a stylishly designed promotional video featuring The Duchess, as well as the launch of its first product, 50 jars of specially designed strawberry jam sent to influencers and friends. The brand's application includes cookbooks, cutlery, various butters and jams, and table place card holders.
The international registration application also includes stationary, gardening products, yoga mats, meditation cushions, and goods for pets. The highly personal project will reflect Meghan's own lifestyle, tastes, and interests and, if successful, will likely become her primary focus in the long term.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry lost a bid to appeal his case against the home office over being denied his right to automatic police protection in Britain when he moved abroad. His lawsuit was dismissed in February after two and a half years of legal wrangling. It is believed that Prince Harry will now take the case directly to the court of appeal.
