Prince William and Kate enjoy a unique takeaway privilege that many other members of the royal family are denied. Like many Britons, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge love to indulge in exotic takeaways, with Indian and Chinese cuisine being among their favorites.
When ordering takeout, William and Kate have the convenience of having someone collect their food and deliver it to their door, a luxury not afforded to other royals. In 2017, they revealed to BBC Radio One host Scott Mills that they are absolutely allowed to order takeaway, with Kate admitting that curry is definitely her favorite. However, William confessed that he is not good with spices.
During an appearance on BBC Radio 5 Live's "That Peter Crouch Podcast," William shared that although he's not a fan of spices, he enjoys chicken masala because he's "not a vindaloo guy" like his cousin. Princess Eugenie previously revealed that she and her husband have to go and pick up their food at the palace gates, sometimes even wearing their pajamas.
Speaking on table manners earlier this year, Eugenie explained, "We had curry last night, which I never do. Jack and I were literally sitting on Deliveroo for an hour." When asked why they don't have the food delivered directly to their door, Eugenie explained that this option was not offered to her and her family.
Other members of the royal family are also said to enjoy takeaway, with Queen Camilla considering traditional fish and chips a British staple. The former Royal Butler also revealed that the late Princess Diana would often take Prince William and Prince Harry to McDonald's.
