Doria's Business Partner Allegedly Lends Meghan Markle Farm for New Netflix Show Due to Studio Costs

There's some speculation going around that Meghan Markle is filming her show on a weed farm in California. The Daily Mail reported that the backdrop for Meghan's show would include two California locations: a $5 million home in Montecito owned by Tom and Sheri Capa, and a nearby farm owned by the Van Windgarden family in the seaside city of Carpinteria.

Meghan, accompanied by a 50-strong film crew, might experience more than just the aroma of freshly baked goodies as she showcases her kitchen skills. That's because one of the shooting locations chosen for Meghan's show is a 14-acre cannabis farm, as recently revealed by DailyMail.com. Production is already underway, and there's a curious exchange happening: free grass-fed produce from Doria and the Markles in exchange for advertising the drug business.

Meghan has already filmed at the couple's expensive $14 million Montecito mansion, but instead of using the professional chef's kitchen, she opted for a smaller yet still impressive 4,500-square-foot home just 2 miles away for the first filming location. The owners of this $5 million home, philanthropists Tom and Sheri Capa, were gracious hosts. However, the farm chosen as the second shooting location has stirred controversy.

The Van Windgarden family's farm has created quite a stink with the neighbors due to the very fragrant cannabis crop. The farm, along with others in the area, has caused an intense skunk-like stench that permanently hangs over Carpinteria, a 10-minute drive from Meghan's home. The Van Windgarden family, who are hosting Meghan and her film crew, are one of the area's biggest producers of legally grown cannabis. However, their operation, along with other farms, has caused an uproar among locals due to the pungent weed fragrance contaminating the air.

From mid-2018 to 2022, Carpinteria residents filed 2,340 odor complaints, according to a website. The neighborhood surrounding the farm regularly experiences a strong cannabis smell, leading to complaints of homes and clothes smelling of cannabis, as well as reports of breathing problems, headaches, and nausea.

The decision to film a cookery show on a pot farm has left many scratching their heads. From the American Riviera of Santa Barbara to the cannabis capital in Carpinteria, it seems Meghan has taken an unexpected turn. Does this mean she's moved away from making strawberry jam to making pot-laced brownies in a borrowed kitchen? Or will this be the "friendship" side of the show, focusing on getting high with friends and neighbors on a borrowed farm?

Harry must be thrilled with this filming location. It seems Meghan couldn't find anything better. Perhaps her budget or reputation is plummeting. So much for filming a cooking show in her own kitchen. Netflix just doesn't seem to understand that no one cares about two very privileged people trying to be relatable.

This Netflix show is yet another failed project for Meghan. Cooking, togetherness, family, children, family love, and hard drugs just don't seem to mix. Meghan's attempts are now becoming fodder for late-night comedians. It seems she just doesn't think beyond the desire for headlines and money.

A hard substances farm as a backdrop? Is that why her jam costs $50 a jar? Will Harry be found lounging out and stoned in the drug fields? It's all too funny.
