Royal historian Kate Williams discussed this possibility on the latest episode of the Royal Beat podcast. She pointed out that traditionally, Kate might appoint her sister Pippa as her lady-in-waiting because of their famously close relationship. Williams noted, "I think we might possibly expect that Pippa might be someone she might appoint, but then of course Pippa has her own life, three children, a busy life of her own. It's a fascinating question."
Speaking of their close bond, Pippa told NBC in 2014, "We have a very normal sisterly relationship, and you know, we support each other and get each other's opinions and things like that." Pippa, who famously captured attention at her sister's royal wedding in 2011, has three young children, including her youngest, Rose, born in 2022.
Kate and Pippa also share a close relationship with their younger brother, James. Last year, their mother Carol Middleton's party business, Party Pieces, went into administration. However, Richard Eden reported for the Daily Mail that Carol's son-in-law, James Matthews, purchased Bucklebury Farm in Berkshire for £1.5 million in 2020. Now, he's opening its lodge for parties, events, and even pilates.
In other news, it seems that before her own royal wedding, the future Queen was remarkably composed. The night before her wedding to Prince William, Kate was spotted checking in at the five-star Goring hotel in London. She looked stunning in a timeless ensemble, wearing a classic white blazer with black details and black high heels.
The next day, she took care of her own makeup and wore a low-priced nail polish from the high street for her bridal manicure. Kate and her family got ready for the big day in the hotel's Royal Apartment, which had recently undergone a £150,000 renovation.
While Kate prepared for the wedding, Prince William spent his last night as a single man at Clarence House, the residence of his father, King Charles. He even went on an unplanned walkabout with his brother, Prince Harry, shaking hands with excited royal fans.
Despite the excitement of the wedding, a health specialist claims that Princess Kate may have to reduce her public appearances for a while. In March, the Princess of Wales revealed in a video that she had started a preventative chemotherapy course.
