Zara Tindall warmly embraces King Charles as the pair share a heartfelt moment at the Royal Windsor Horse Trials this morning. Zara Tindall appeared delighted to see her uncle, King Charles, back out and about on Friday as he made a surprise appearance at the Royal Windsor Horse Show. Intimate photos capture Zara pulling the King in for a warm embrace and kiss shortly after his arrival at the prestigious Royal event.
Despite the wet and gray weather, the King was in high spirits as he spoke to officials under the cover of umbrellas, wearing a large coat to shield himself from the elements.
The 75-year-old King seemed happy to be there on the third day of the event, just three days after returning to his public duties. This represents another positive sign that the King's health is improving and that he is responding well to treatment after being diagnosed with an unknown type of cancer at the beginning of the year.
The late Queen Elizabeth used to regularly attend the Windsor Horse Show, hosted on the grounds of Windsor Castle, as a spectator and even entered some horses into the event. The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, along with Princess Anne, have also attended the show over the past few days, which runs from May 1st to 5th.
This annual event, which attracts enthusiasts from all over the world, sees many of them join in the thousands on the grounds of Windsor Castle to participate in international competitions in show jumping, dressage, driving, and endurance.
This week marked the King's return to public duties for the first time since he revealed his cancer diagnosis at the beginning of February. On Tuesday, the King and Queen met with patients and staff at the McMillan Cancer Centre at University College Hospital in London during their visit.
