Piers Morgan Reacts as Prince Harry's Plea Rejected in London's High Court

Prince Harry was mocked by the outspoken British TV presenter Piers Morgan as the Duke's plea against him and Rupert Murdoch was rejected in London's High Court. The Duke of Sussex suffered a major blow as he has lost an application to bring new allegations against Rupert Murdoch and Piers Morgan in his High Court hacking claim against News Group Newspapers (NGN).

The former Good Morning presenter reacted to the ruling in his own style, writing on X (formerly Twitter): "Exactly what I told Laura Kuenssberg at the weekend.. the gormless little twerp just throws my name in to get media attention. And judges are now seeing through his game." Morgan also shared a screenshot of the Deadline Hollywood report, though he did not use harsh words against the Duke.

The Duke of Sussex cannot extend his legal action against News Group Newspapers (NGN) to include new allegations against Rupert Murdoch, a High Court judge has reportedly ruled. Justice Fancourt on Tuesday ruled that the new claims against "trophy targets" such as Mr. Murdoch and other senior NGN executives could not be taken to a trial scheduled for January next year, stating they added "nothing material," but said some other amendments could be made.

He continued: "I also consider that there is a desire on the part of those running the litigation on the claimants' side to shoot at 'trophy' targets, whether those are political issues or high-profile individuals. This cannot become an end in itself: it only matters to the court so far as it is material and proportionate to the resolution of the individual causes of action. The trial is not an inquiry."
