Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently traveled to Nigeria as part of their charitable work, aiming to highlight initiatives such as the Invictus Games. Scoffield pointed out that while the visit is being referred to as a royal tour, Harry and Meghan are not considered senior working royals in the monarchy. They are visiting Nigeria in a private capacity rather than an official one.
Richard Montgomery, the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, clarified in a statement that the British High Commission was not involved in arranging or facilitating their program.
During their visit, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expected to attend a reception and engage in various activities, including meeting government officials, visiting the W Light Academy supported by the Royal Foundation, attending sporting events, and participating in a reception for wounded soldiers and families of fallen soldiers.
On Sunday, they plan to meet with Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and visit a school in Lagos supported by the Royal Foundation.
The couple was photographed in Abuja, the capital of Nigeria, after Prince Harry's short trip to the UK. Meghan flew from Los Angeles to join him at London's Heathrow Airport on Thursday evening.
