Prince William Issues New Rule for His Reign as King Charles Prepares to Hand Over the Kingship

Prince Harry has admitted that he worries about the future roles of Prince William and Kate's children. Despite not being close to his niece and nephew, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, Harry still thinks about the life he left behind and the potential future challenges they may face. In a 2023 interview with the Daily Telegraph to promote his book, "Spare," Harry expressed his concerns, saying, "I know for sure that if it's not us, it will be someone else in my family."

He added that although William has made it clear that Harry is not responsible for his kids, he still feels a sense of responsibility, as he knows that at least one of them will end up being in a similar position to him as a "spare."

In his book, Harry writes extensively about his childhood as the spare brother to his older brother, William. He reminisces about sharing a room with William at Balmoral Castle in Scotland during their family's summer vacations. Harry describes how William's side of the room was larger and had a beautiful window overlooking the courtyard, pond, and bronze statue, while his side was less spacious and not as fancy. Reflecting on their roles, Harry writes, "Willie was the heir and I was the spare. This world made me so that something could happen to Willie. I was asked to help out, be a distraction, or even come along as a spare part."

Regarding his upcoming trip to the UK, there are rumors that Prince Harry may cancel it due to safety concerns. The trip was planned for him to give a speech at St. Paul's Cathedral during the 10th-anniversary celebrations of the Invictus Games. However, following his loss in the high court against the UK Home Office earlier this year and his expressed worries about safety, it seems he might instead appear via video link or a pre-recorded message. Harry lost the case and now has to pay £1 million in legal fees. He is reportedly disappointed with the security plans for his trip to the UK.

According to sources, whenever Harry travels to the UK, his trips are contingent upon how safe he feels. His security team has to ensure that St. Paul's Cathedral is well-protected by the Metropolitan Police and that he is safe while in London. Due to concerns about his security detail, Harry may choose to stay in California and participate in the Invictus Games celebrations via video link or a pre-recorded message.
