Despite her royal status, Princess Beatrice proved she's just like everyone else by flying economy to attend the Cannes Lions Festival in the south of France. According to a fellow passenger who spoke to Page Six, the princess boarded an EasyJet flight from London's Luton Airport on Monday, carrying her own luggage onboard. Photos show Beatrice wearing a navy skirt, matching knitwear, and trainers as she made her way through the airport.
The 34-year-old royal was traveling to the French Riviera to speak on a panel discussion titled "AI Intelligence in the Age of AI" at Spotify Beach, alongside the streaming giant's Chief Public Affairs Officer, Dusty Jenkins.
Beatrice, who is the vice president of strategic partnerships at the tech company Affinity, frequently travels for work. At the panel, she opened up about how being dyslexic has actually helped her understand technology better.
"It really gave me space to really be myself. I've got dyslexia, so I was always fascinated by how things work. That was the way that my brain worked," Beatrice said.
Jenkins also praised Beatrice's role as an adviser to Spotify's team, saying, "She's a dear friend and I get to watch her in action...we've benefited tremendously because she's looking to create mentorships, networking, entrepreneurship - all while understanding technology."
This isn't the first time Beatrice has participated in tech-focused events. In April, she joined a panel to discuss the future of technology in the UK at a VIP Spotify event. She has also spoken at the Brilliant Minds conference, where she was joined by her friend, singer Ellie Goulding.
Notably, Beatrice introduced herself simply as "Beatrice of York" at the Brilliant Minds event, rather than using her royal title "Princess Beatrice." This contrasts with Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, who often insists on being addressed by her title.
Beatrice's down-to-earth approach and focus on her professional work, rather than her royal status, highlights the authenticity of her public persona. This stands in stark contrast to the more high-profile and sometimes controversial actions of her cousin-in-law, Meghan.
