King Charles seemed to send a subtle message to his estranged son on Father’s Day, which coincided with the event Harry missed. The official Royal Family’s social media account shared a poignant video on Sunday featuring the monarch with his late father, Prince Philip. The black and white montage captured various moments between father and son throughout the years.
Accompanying the video was a heartfelt message that appeared to extend beyond the late Duke of Edinburgh: “Wishing all Dads, and those who may be missing their parents today, a relaxing Father’s Day.”
While initially addressing those who have lost their parents, the statement could also be interpreted as reaching out to Harry, who has openly expressed missing his family, especially his father and brother, Prince William, on multiple occasions.
After King Charles’s cancer diagnosis, Harry was personally informed by his father and promptly flew overnight to be by his side. Reflecting on this in an interview with Good Morning America weeks later, Harry emphasized his love for his family: “I jumped on a plane and went to go see him as soon as I could. Look, I love my family. The fact that I was able to get on a plane and go and see him and spend any time with him, I’m grateful for that.”
However, in a twist of scheduling fate back in May, during Harry’s visit to the UK, he was unable to meet with Charles due to the latter’s packed schedule. Despite this, the recent message from the Royal Family may hint at a possibility for reconciliation between father and son in the future.
