Speaking to The Sun, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams described Meghan's move as "odd" and "ridiculous." He emphasized, "Meghan and Harry are fully aware that every action of theirs is closely scrutinized by the media."

Fitzwilliams went on to criticize the timing, saying, "The idea that they would choose the day of Trooping the Colour for this is quite silly."

According to Fitzwilliams, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex seem intent on diverting attention away from major royal events. He remarked, "The Sussexes have consistently disregarded royal protocols regarding diary clashes."

"Meghan likely did not receive advice from her public relations consultants to proceed with this timing," Fitzwilliams continued. "This decision seems ill-advised and could invite ridicule, especially if Meghan intended these gifts for private use."
