The Prince of Wales has officially barred his youngest son from attending any royal family events or engagements over an appalling two-word slur against Camilla Parker Bowles, it was reported today. As some might recall, Charles and Harry have not been on good terms for some time -- a strain said to be caused by insinuations from insiders that Harry has disrespected Camilla. They suggested to Oprah that Camilla helped cause Charles's messy divorce from Diana and was never similarly embraced. Obviously, this is all come to a head after things reached fever pitch in the most dramatic fashion when Harry popped by Balmoral Castle over in Scotland for his recent visit with the Queen.
According to sources, Harry was on the razzle during a private dinner and right in front of his father and other Royals offered up an extremely obscene two-word phrase for Camilla. Obviously, I will not repeat the offensive term on air but rhymes with "ducking trot" and it is disgustingly derogatory towards a woman. Well, of course, Charles was immediately apoplectic at this disgusting insult to his beloved Camilla. A huge row immediately broke out between father and son, with other Royals looking on in shock. Leaving the matter in a rage, Charles forced Harry out of Balmoral that night on the first plane back to California and barred him from Royal Estates. That was followed by an incandescent voicemail left on Harry's phone, informing him he has disgraced the family in perpetuity. Charles even signposted that Harry must never be invited to another Royal Christmas, Trooping the Colour, or family event ever again.
Those close to Charles have said he considers Harry's insult a betrayal too far after all Camilla has done for the family over the years. Associates agreed launching such a vicious insult was stepping way too far over the line that Charles can never come back from. Harry is now, in effect, persona non grata in Britain for the foreseeable future - and possibly forever after this disgusting episode (Our King Has Said: Harry Fecked).
Now Palace aides have gone on the record suggesting that this ugly outburst was entirely characteristic and even not merely a drunken one-off for Harry. Instead, they squarely finger Meghan as the real villain of the piece - despite insisting Harry has long been under her thumb behind the scenes and aided in his growing resentment for Charles and Camilla. In staff members' notes, they reveal how the Sussexes fueled family rifts with their Oprah interview and a year ago unleashed controversy about touring the Caribbean to overshadow Queen's Jubilee celebrations. There were suggestions that it was no accident Harry picked this moment to launch his most direct attack on Camilla, with insiders insisting the timing tied in perfectly with a premeditated bid by new mother-in-law Meghan to exact revenge and do as much damage within the House of Windsor as possible. She is accused as the conflict-maker using Harry as a puppet to play attack-dog for her, avoiding any chance of blame falling inappropriately on herself.
The Sussexes would undoubtedly write it off as yet another day of annoying the Palace with its thousand cuts - an ongoing campaign to erode Charles's reign and Camilla's support as Queen Consort. at any price (to his relationships). It was alleged that Meghan had manipulated him to serve her own agenda against the royal family. Others even wonder just how far her bullying and threats of revenge might go unchecked.
Of course, representatives for the Sussexes vehemently deny any suggestion of impropriety. Above that, they call the alleged slight from Harry "out of scale" and out-of-context. But Palace sources close to insist their version is the complete truth, and say Charles has had more than enough. Now the gulf between father and son appears all but unbridgeable, not least because Harry refuses to accept how much damage his sulking wife Meghan has done.
Well then, what next? And that spells permanent banishment for Harry and possibly a final loss of his few ceremonial titles now Charles has shown the Sussexes exactly where they stand. For a wife, it seems she has made sure every bridge was scorched on his way out. She is persona non grata to Meghan and, no doubt, once allowing your attire if they should darken our idyllic boughs with their presence then the reception will be colder than an arctic winter.
