Cory Vitiello Files Lawsuit Against Meghan Markle for Stealing His Cake Recipe

According to Corey, back in early 2020, when Meghan Markle was working on her cookbook *Together*, she visited his renowned downtown LA bakery, Anthropik, on what appeared to be a reconnaissance mission. Corey greeted Meghan warmly, unaware of the complications that would later arise. During her visit, Meghan showed a keen interest in Corey’s signature lemon olive oil cake. She inundated him with questions about the ingredients and method, and even took numerous photos of the recipe card on display.

Corey was flattered by Meghan's interest, never suspecting that she would later replicate his years-old recipe without credit. When *Together* was finally released, Corey was stunned to see an identical lemon olive oil cake recipe featured in the book, including the unique topping of preserved lemons pressed into the icing. Furious that Meghan had passed off his recipe as her own, Corey is now publicly alleging plagiarism for the first time.

In an exclusive interview, Corey details his accusations against the Duchess of Sussex. He believes Meghan’s actions were premeditated. "She came to scout out recipes she could easily copy without getting caught," Corey claims. "Meghan charmed me to get as many details as possible, then recreated the recipe verbatim without any attribution." Corey suspects that Meghan, pressed for time as she hastily assembled the cookbook during the pandemic, thought that a small bakery’s recipe would go unnoticed amid the global branding of her book.

“This recipe is my livelihood,” Corey says. “The ordeal has caused me significant distress. How could someone so smugly steal another person's work without any remorse? It has shaken my faith in humanity.” He has also lost customers who now associate the recipe with Meghan’s scandal.

Corey is speaking out to protect others from what he views as Meghan’s deceptive practices. Sources suggest this isn't the first time Meghan's integrity regarding creative work has been questioned. During her time as a lifestyle influencer, many of her popular blog posts were found to be directly copied from other sources without permission. Entire articles on her now-defunct blog, *The Tig*, were word-for-word replicas of pieces from other well-known publications. When these instances of plagiarism were exposed, Meghan simply deleted the posts without acknowledgment or apology.

Her resume has also come under scrutiny, with former colleagues alleging that she exaggerated her roles and responsibilities on the TV show *Suits* to enhance her public image. An upcoming tell-all book is expected to reveal more about Meghan before she met Prince Harry.

As Corey’s accusations gain traction online, some view them as further evidence of a pattern of dishonesty and appropriation in Meghan’s career. Sources indicate that Meghan is privately anxious about the controversy and is working with her PR team to manage the fallout. However, she has not received public support from the palace. The royal household, perturbed but not surprised by the allegations, has made it clear that Meghan’s cookbook was not an official royal project and that she must face the consequences of her actions without expecting public funds to cover her missteps.
