Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Set to Face King Charles' Wrath—Here's What to Expect

Following the Balmoral Summit this summer, King Charles and Queen Camilla, along with other royal family members like Prince William and Princess Catherine, have been discussing the future of the British monarchy. According to reports, King Charles hosted this gathering at the royal family’s Scottish residence earlier in August to outline Harry and Meghan’s future role with the royals.

Sources say the king and the royal family have decided to shift their focus to the next generation of royals until 2030. The strategy is to move away from the Sussexes and concentrate on the younger members of the royal family. As one source put it, “The strategy now is to move away from focusing on what the Sussexes are doing and place an emphasis on the next generation of royals.” There is a strong sense of not dwelling on the past but moving forward with the assets they have—namely, the younger royals.

Frankly, I agree with this approach. Dwelling on the past and focusing on Harry and Meghan would only drag the family into a quagmire. As they say, you don’t want to get into the mud and fight with pigs, and it seems the royal family is taking the same stance.

The source also noted, “King Charles is very aware that the younger generation is the future of the monarchy. His focus is to ensure that its legacy remains once he has gone and that can be secured in the Waleses' era,” referring to Prince William and Princess Catherine.

So, who was present at the Balmoral Summit? Besides the Prince and Princess of Wales, attendees included Princess Anne, her daughter Zara Tindall, and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh. Despite rumors, Harry and Meghan were not invited to the summit. Are you surprised? I reported a few weeks ago that Prince William has reportedly banned Harry from returning to the royal family in any capacity, so it’s no surprise they weren’t included.

Sources also suggest that King Charles might consider creating unofficial roles for other royals, such as Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, as well as Lady Louise Windsor and her brother, James, Viscount Severn, among others. It’s notable that Beatrice and Eugenie, who were once seen as allies of Harry and Meghan, are now clearly aligned with the current royal strategy.

The future of the royal family isn’t solely dependent on the Waleses but also on other members who hold a visible profile both in the UK and globally. The royal family has been adept at building and maintaining its brand for centuries, unlike Harry and Meghan, who seem to struggle with this.

It was reported last week that Harry’s position as fifth in line to the throne could be in jeopardy, and so could the positions of Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, especially after Harry renounced his British residency in April.

Twitter has been buzzing about the royal family's decision to ignore Harry and Meghan. R News Network suggests that ignoring them is effective, though Meghan’s need for attention might lead her to pull stunts to stay in the spotlight. Thankfully, the focus will soon shift to the children, but the question remains—how much damage will Harry and Meghan do to the monarchy in the meantime?Currently, the damage seems minimal, as many view them as less credible. Hollywood is increasingly mocking them, and their recent trip to Colombia was widely criticized. According to RFN, ignoring them appears to be working.

Comments from Twitter users reflect mixed opinions. Some believe that ignoring Harry and Meghan is effective, while others suggest stripping their titles and removing them from the line of succession. It remains to be seen which action the royal family will take next.
