Meghan Markle's PR team is working overtime, putting her name out there everywhere. Something must be brewing because she's popping up all over the place. There are several interviews coming out, even in the New York Times. How The Duchess is moving on from the pain of the past, finding peace, and transforming from a royal scapegoat to a lifestyle mogul and philanthropist. It's happening—the whole relaunch is happening. Get ready! This is what we were born for. As she pivots to create this new launch, we’ll be here to remind everyone what's really going on.
Exclusive to Us Weekly: A TV actress who worked on a successful show, popular lifestyle blog The TIG, and a home in Toronto where *Suits* filmed. Oh my God, they're already glossing over the truth about her past. Taking her beagle, Guy, for walks, and then she met Prince Harry. Yeah, exactly—gave away the dog, divorced her husband, and did anything for fame. But they gloss over all that. Life behind the palace doors was no fairy tale. There was tension between Prince William, Princess Kate, and Meghan, who took a beating in the UK press. You're established in one world, and then you're thrown into another, where your narrative is dictated by external forces of family and friends.
She left the UK and eventually landed in scenic Montecito. If you could write a more biased synopsis of Meghan's history, this would be it. Us Weekly did not keep it honest, but let’s keep going. While trying to process the events of the past few years, she and Harry spoke candidly about the trauma they say they faced within the monarchy. The bombshell interview, Harry and Meghan, Spare, Spotify podcast Archetypes—until they mutually parted ways. As if you couldn’t tell yet whether this was a puff piece done by Meghan's PR team or not, there it is: "mutual parting of ways."
She briefly appeared to take a breather, but in recent months, Meghan's been back in the game full throttle. She's set to launch her lifestyle brand, her new Netflix series centered around cooking, entertaining, and gardening. Filming finished in July. She joined a slew of Hollywood heavyweights, including Reese Witherspoon and Gwyneth Paltrow, none of whom wanted to pose with her or be seen anywhere near her. But I digress. At a one-day business summit, Meghan was there to network. She was "very kind and humble and eager to learn." Oh, God, this is so pathetic.
She's been busy with philanthropic endeavors, like going to countries on their dime and using important resources for her new outfits. In August, Meghan and Harry sat down with CBS to discuss their new campaign, The Parents Network, which aims to protect kids from online harm. Huh, I wonder what they're actually doing there. Two weeks later, they wrapped up a four-day trip to Colombia, marking their second international tour following Nigeria. "I’m looking at this as my chapter of joy," Meghan said.
Meghan has transitioned from actress to royal to entrepreneur. She's worn many hats, but she believes age and experience have prepared her for a bigger purpose in life. She's happy with the role she's carved out—you mean the one she's always planned since day one: bag myself a prince. Us Weekly talks to insiders close to Harry and Meghan about how she's boldly stepping into her next act. Oh my God.
It’s taken some time for her to process everything that happened after she married into the royal family. She’s been candid about her struggles within "The Firm." She and Kate famously fell out following a disagreement over Charlotte's flower girl dress and how affected she was by attacks on her in the British media. "I believe part of our healing journey—certainly part of mine—is being able to be really open about it." Now, she’s ready to look forward after Spare. "We’re ready to move on; we want to focus on our future"—except for the paperback that’s coming out this holiday season.
"We can have an important separation from the lives we previously had." That means not holding grudges. "So much of how I approach things is less about the fight," she said during one of her summits, "and more about how we show up in the space and wash things over with love, kindness, and generosity. Meghan doesn’t harbor any negative feelings; she just wants peace." Yeah, right, like this girl doesn’t hold a grudge. "You can’t find peace if you harbor resentments." Oh my God, this is so hard to read because this is such BS.
After her cancer diagnosis, Meghan and Harry released a statement: "We wish health and healing for Kate." It's Catherine, it’s Catherine—you know it, and yet they decided to still put Kate. Okay, but you respect—yeah, right. "We hope they’re able to do it in private." The family friend says they are otherwise moving on from royal headlines. Meghan's team gets asked daily to comment on stuff that has nothing to do with their lives now. "They’ve left it behind."
A source close to the Sussexes says Meghan has a great group of friends who are all successful in their own right. She really trusts them, including famous pals like Serena Williams and Ellen DeGeneres. I wonder how close they all still are, but okay—more like her neighbors. She has a group of local moms she sees regularly. The first insider says The Duchess has become very close with neighbor and Bumble founder Whitney Wolfe Herd. Oh, Herd—Whitney Herd. Yikes, that’s not Amber’s sister, right?
The second source says she’s tight with Jamie Kern Lima, co-founder of IT Cosmetics. Careful, you might get Markled. Harry, meanwhile, has a small group of close friends because all his other friends don’t like her, noting that he keeps his inner circle tight for understandable reasons—because she’s pushed everyone else out. Moving from the UK has been an adjustment for Harry. He’s miserable, though he’s come to love the situation in the States. He’ll always be fond of his home country. By the way, he views it, his wife and his kids, though, are his priority, so he’s left it all behind for her. If that means making sure they’re safe and happy far from acid attacks, then he supports that.
She always wants to show the importance of family but never actually shows it. "Being a mom is the most important thing in my entire life," she says. It's why she often leaves them to go on famous important trips with fancy dresses. She didn’t say that last part. Meghan gushed about how important family was at their mental health day summit. A family friend says Meghan and Harry are hands-on parents to Archie and Lilibet. Yeah, sure, they’re so hands-on with all the support staff that actually seems to raise them because you’re out a lot.
"They have normal childhoods. They take the kids to school and pick them up. They’re very active and present with them throughout the day." A friend says that the Sussexes keep them out of the spotlight for their own safety. "I think every parent wants to share their kid with the world, but they just can’t." Harry's enhanced security in the UK—William’s kids, for example, have way more safety, even though they’re more recognizable. That is such a lie. He has security too. He just wants more security, and he could get it if he planned ahead. He’s just not being honest about it. He wants the actual royal status, is what he’s really fighting for here.
Here we go, keep it going. "They know the world wants to see them, but I would expect them to live smaller lives until that gets sorted out. Until there’s security, we won’t see them." As for explaining their royal heritage to the kids, "They’ll have those conversations in due time. They want Archie and Lilibet to be loved for who they are as individuals, and then they’ll eventually throw on that they’re a prince."
"They’re so well-mannered. Archie is sweet and curious and playful. Lilibet is vibrant and happy." During the panel in Columbia, Meghan proudly declared Lilibet "has found her voice," according to the second source. Meghan and Harry are happy as parents as the two continue to work with the Archewell Foundation, launching their business ventures. Afterwards, who’s to say, but I think the focus right now is raising their two children.
As she continues forging ahead with her life, Meghan wants to surround herself with people who care—who care! Oh, she wants to protect herself with people who have her best interests at heart. Her estranged father, Thomas, doesn’t fit the bill. The former lighting director famously staged paparazzi photos. Oh my God, so let’s murder him for the rest of his life after everything he’s done for you as a father. Oh, he staged some photos that didn’t even mean anything to you? But me spilling all my secrets about my family—no, no, no, no, it’s my dad, I’m going to villainize him forever.
In a 2020 interview, Meghan said it felt "devastating" to have her father betray her and that she found it hard to reconcile their fractured relationship. How could they even imagine like this to happen? A source close to Thomas says Meghan doesn’t want to reach out to him. "He’s been pushing to reconcile for years, but she’s refusing." He is refusing. God bless you, Thomas, I’m sorry, you don’t deserve this. Your daughter is ruthless and careless. She doesn’t have peace, she’s just a vindictive person.
Meghan said that people should live authentically. The first insider says she prioritizes protecting her peace and having a strong sense of self. "You have to trust your gut." Meghan is very much in that space, feeling more confident than ever. You know who she sounds like? She sounds like Rachel Zane. Her gut is just a typical PR tactic. All this PR about her gut is the typical PR stunt she’s always done to reinvent herself. "If I don’t like something, I change it." The Duchess isn’t waiting for someone else to write her story. She’s taking control, just as she always has.
While she’s keeping her cards close to her chest, her new Netflix series is highly anticipated. There is a lot of potential there for her to start a brand. The most successful people don’t have the same path—they stay true to themselves. That’s the end. Oh my God, this was such a fluff piece. Oh my God, this was literally just written by her PR team. Do you feel as gross as I do? I feel gross. My God, they just love trying to shove this woman’s narrative down our throats.
