Prince William's Shocking Gesture: The Heartbreak Behind Closed Doors with Kate Middleton

For all the finery and glamour, The Prince and Princess of Wales looked more down-to-earth than royal today when they were caught on camera in a moment that surely resonates with most couples. Blending royal elegance with the enchanting landscapes of Kenya, Princess Catherine added a touch of regal allure to the celebrations, captivating both attendees and admirers worldwide. This return to Kenya holds special significance for the Waleses, as it is a place that holds a dear spot in their hearts.

Catherine even spent part of her childhood there when her father, Michael Middleton, was a British Airways flight dispatcher. The Middletons moved to Kenya when the Princess was just two years old, and the family once released a sweet photo of Catherine and her younger sister Pippa with their father there.

Catherine’s attendance at the wedding was eagerly anticipated, not just for the royal presence, but also for the fashion statement she would undoubtedly make. Known for her impeccable style and grace, all eyes were on what the Waleses would choose to wear for the occasion. Her ability to blend traditional royal attire with contemporary styles has made her a fashion icon, and this event was no different.

Looking back at last year’s wedding of Crown Prince Hussein of Jordan and Rajwa Al Saif, Princess Catherine was seen engaged in conversation with the new bride. However, the small talk seemed to wear on Prince William, who was caught cheekily signaling for his wife to wrap it up. As the Prince and Princess of Wales reached the front of the queue to greet the bride, William engaged in a brief conversation with Al Saif before moving on. Catherine then began an animated conversation with the bride before William quipped "chop chop" and made a winding-up gesture with his hands. Despite his playful impatience, she continued to chat for a bit longer, complimenting the bride on her wedding gown before eventually moving on.

In the clip, William can be heard saying "chop chop" and quietly encouraging Catherine to keep moving. Providing a perfect style inspiration, the Princess of Wales wore a floor-length pink dress with a high neck, long sleeves, and intricate embroidery. Her hair was styled in classic Hollywood waves, and she accessorized with statement earrings. Beside her, Prince William looked dapper in a navy suit with a blue tie.

Back in 2018, when the Prince of Wales visited Kenya, he attended his ex-girlfriend Jecca Craig’s wedding. Meanwhile, Catherine joined the likes of Prince Harry and Chelsy Davy to celebrate Peter Phillips and Autumn Kelly's nuptials at St. George’s Chapel. The Princess arrived for the ceremony in a black knee-length dress layered underneath a pastel pink corset-style lace-up jacket. She completed her outfit with a pink satin box clutch from Prada and a black fascinator with a birdcage veil atop her bouncy curls. The top of her sheer wedding guest dress was just peeking out from underneath her jacket. In the afternoon, fans got a better glimpse of the frock at the evening reception as she hit the dance floor.

Princess Catherine’s visit not only celebrated the union of close friends but also reinforced the deep connections and fond memories that tie the British Royals to Kenya’s majestic lands. Kenya, with its rich history and connection to the British royal family, makes for a poignant setting. It was in Kenya that Prince William proposed to Catherine in 2010, making this trip a nostalgic return to where their journey to matrimony began. The country’s natural beauty and wildlife have always been close to the couple’s hearts, making their participation in the wedding even more special.

Both the Prince and Princess of Wales were so taken with the country that they felt compelled to return with their children in 2021 for a private family holiday. A photograph from that visit was even chosen for the family’s Christmas card that year. Petra, a historic city in southern Jordan where the family photo was taken, is renowned for its beauty and fascinating archaeology, even being named one of the Seven New Wonders of the World in a 2007 vote.
