Cate Blanchett Snubs Prince Harry on The Jimmy Fallon Show: He Isn’t a Guest!

Prince Harry, once the charming royal, now finds himself navigating the bizarre world of late-night television. During Thursday's episode of NBC's *The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon*, he joined in on the Halloween festivities, but not as an honored guest—he was merely a prop in Fallon’s latest venture, a haunted maze attraction whimsically dubbed “Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Mass” at Rockefeller Center.

As Fallon led the hapless prince through this kitschy haunted spectacle, they encountered actors in various states of eerie delight, including a notably grotesque zombie gnawing on what appeared to be a dead body. Amid this frightful fun, one of the maze actors, perhaps bewildered by the absurdity of the scene, turned to a colleague and asked who Harry was. When informed it was Prince Harry, the shock was evident.

At one point, Harry jokingly asked, "Is that Michael B?" only to receive a cheeky response from Fallon about Harry's singing abilities. Once accustomed to the pomp and circumstance of royal engagements, Harry is now slumming it with Jimmy Fallon, traipsing through a haunted maze without the dignity of even a formal interview. What a fall from grace!

He isn’t promoting a new book, charity initiative, or even a homemade jam recipe—oh wait, he doesn’t have a jar of jam to hawk. Instead, he’s parading around like the court jester of Hollywood, reduced to a sidekick in Fallon’s antics. This is likely not the glamorous life he envisioned when he swapped his crown for the California dream.

Adding to the amusement is the apparent upgrade in Harry’s social circle, which now includes the true Hollywood bottom feeders. Cate Blanchett and Saturday Night Live’s Marcello Hernandez occupied the actual guest spots on the episode, while the beleaguered prince played the role of a sidekick, seemingly desperate to rehabilitate his image. This effort appears to create some distance from his wife, Meghan, who remains a hot topic in this entire saga.

The more Harry is thrust into these ridiculous scenarios, the clearer it becomes that he is being guided by a PR team distinctly separate from the royal family—or even Meghan. It seems she’s off doing her own thing while Harry wanders aimlessly. Meanwhile, Prince William is leading a global initiative to save the planet—a true power move. Harry, on the other hand, is trying to cling to relevance, one poorly executed late-night appearance at a time.

Let’s be honest: no amount of fluff can salvage his image when he opens his mouth. Is he going to complain about the royal family again or wax poetic about being the world's best dad? Please, we’ve heard it all before.

Then there’s the deliciously ironic twist: Harry's engagement with search engine optimization. Remember when Jimmy roasted Harry's mum, Princess Diana, after this maze romp? That old episode won’t be sitting pretty atop search engine results anymore. Here’s a self-proclaimed drug user who sold out his own family for cash and now tries to insert himself into discussions about freedom of speech. Why are shows still giving him a platform?

So, what exactly is Prince Harry promoting with this latest foray into the entertainment abyss? A jar of jam? A cringeworthy ghost story? The only certainty is that Harry is living the life of a third-rate celebrity.
