Anmer Hall, a country house built in 1802, boasts 10 rooms spread across three floors and sits on a sprawling 20,000-acre estate. In the video, the family is seen enjoying long walks through the vast wheat fields and forests surrounding the property, located just a five-minute drive from Sandringham. Thanks to this recent publication, we now have a rare glimpse inside the house, offering an intimate look at their home. The images reveal a bright and airy environment, highlighted by large windows and a cozy country-style decor. One wall, painted a warm dark yellow, showcases decorative plates, while the rustic furnishings display framed family photographs and houseplants that bring a natural touch to the space.
The family dining room exudes a welcoming, Bohemian vibe, decorated with tropical plants, scalloped lampshades, and chic cream curtains that allow natural light to flood the room. As the family plays cards and shares bursts of competitive laughter, Katherine and William's collection of trinkets is visible in the background—family photos, wicker baskets, artsy vases, and ornate plates adorning the walls. In addition to these charming interior features, Anmer Hall also includes a swimming pool, tennis court, winter garden, and a contemporary kitchen.
Anmer Hall was a wedding gift from Queen Elizabeth II in 2011. In 2015, the couple undertook a major renovation, spending over $1 million to suit their growing family’s needs. Royal renovations don’t come cheap, and unfortunately, many of the costs are covered by public funds. Some of the most expensive renovations have been linked to William and Katherine, who spent a staggering £4.5 million refurbishing their Kensington home, a project that spanned two years. These updates included removing asbestos and repairing the roof, but the couple also paid out of pocket for a second family kitchen, as the main kitchen is reserved for official events.
Although they now officially reside at Windsor, the Prince and Princess of Wales continue to visit Anmer Hall, a place that symbolizes the start of their life as a family and remains an important retreat in their personal journey.
Meanwhile, the Princess's parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, co-own an impressive countryside mansion in Berkshire, where they raised Katherine and her younger siblings, Pippa and James.
