Prince Harry and Netflix Slammed for Using Kate Middleton’s Cancer News to Hype New Polo Series

All Eyes Should Be on Princess Katherine’s Chemotherapy Completion, Not Prince Harry’s New Docu-Series The spotlight back to what truly matters and call out the absurdity of the situation. It’s hard to believe that, just after Princess Katherine released a touching video with her family—Prince Harry chose this moment to unveil his new project.

It’s baffling that on a day meant to honor Princess Katherine's significant milestone, Harry’s team has opted to reveal the title and release date of his new polo show. Seriously, could they not have waited a day? It seems like every time Katherine makes a significant announcement, there’s an effort to overshadow it with news from the royal family.

The new docu-series, titled *Polo*, will premiere in December. I’m honestly floored by this timing. The series will focus on the world of polo, following elite players and offering a behind-the-scenes look at the sport. The announcement came from Netflix, which revealed the series would showcase the grit and passion behind polo—a sport known for its high social status and, to some, its controversial treatment of horses.

On September 9th, Netflix announced that Prince Harry’s documentary would be called *Polo* and premiere in December. This update was accompanied by images of polo players and the sport’s competitive nature. While Harry has played polo for decades, this series aims to provide viewers with unprecedented access to professional polo, primarily shot at the US Open Polo Championship in Florida.

The news was initially reported by Deadline, which also revealed that Meghan Markle is involved in another Netflix project. Despite this, the focus should have been on Princess Katherine, not a new series about an elite sport. The timing of this announcement seems incredibly insensitive.

As I read about the series, I can’t help but feel a mix of frustration and disappointment. It’s frustrating to see a royal family member’s cancer news being overshadowed by a promotional push for a sport that seems disconnected from the everyday struggles of most people.

I’m also baffled by Netflix’s choice to drop this news on the same day as Katherine’s announcement. Was this intentional? Did they think it would boost their show’s visibility by aligning it with a royal news cycle? It’s hard to believe that Harry had no input on this timing. If he did, he should have known better than to let his project overshadow a significant personal milestone for his family.

The ongoing discourse around the series and its release date shows a disconnect between the royal family's activities and the public’s expectations for respect and sensitivity. Some viewers are already expressing their dissatisfaction, suggesting that this timing is more about creating controversy than genuine promotion.

So, as we navigate this complex situation, let’s remember to focus on what truly matters. Princess Katherine’s recovery is a significant milestone and deserves our attention and support. The rest of the news, while it may be of interest, should not overshadow this moment.
