Fortified Living: Inside Kate Middleton and Prince William's Secure Apartment

Bulletproof windows and a bomb-proof door: Kate Middleton and William had a very secure apartment when they started out! In the early 2000s, shortly after meeting, Kate Middleton and Prince William moved into a modest but very secure home!

The Princess of Wales and her husband, Prince William, have given up the hubbub of London to share their daily lives between their home at Adelaide Cottage, nestled on the Windsor estate, and the residence at Anmer Hall, in the verdant Norfolk countryside. In September 2002, shortly after meeting, the couple moved into 13a Hope Street, away from campus, in a small two-storey Edwardian townhouse. The lovebirds – who shared accommodation with two friends – had the same amenities as any student: comfortable sofas, a television, mismatched furniture and knick-knacks... But also, a very elaborate security arsenal, including bulletproof windows and a bomb-proof front door! To stay there, the future princess and her lover each paid £100 (that's about €120) per week, assures the British magazine.
