Prince Harry's Book "Spare" Compromises Royal Family Trust.
King Charles III, currently battling cancer, has chosen not to respond to his estranged son Prince Harry's phone calls, aiming to maintain a stress-free environment.
At 75 years old, the monarch has not answered the Duke of Sussex's phone calls or letters for valid reasons, according to Robert Hardman, author of *The Making of a King: King Charles III and the Modern Monarchy*. The King has been advised to refrain from engaging with Harry's messages to keep his "stress levels down," Hardman shared in an interview with Fox News.
"There is a general sentiment that we must prioritize keeping the King’s stress levels manageable. We don’t want to add to his worries during this challenging time. The consensus seems to be that now is not the right moment," Hardman explained.
He acknowledged public curiosity about the situation, stating, "I understand the frustration: ‘Why doesn’t he see Harry when he is in town? Why can’t they work things out?’"
In response, Hardman said, "Listening to what Harry has shared in his television series, book, and interviews reveals there’s a lot to unpack. He has many issues he wants to address and process. For now, it appears to be an inappropriate time for reconciliation. However, I’m confident the King would like to restore normalcy."
Prince Harry's relationship with his family has been strained since he and his wife stepped back from royal duties in 2020 and moved to the United States. His memoir, *Spare*, along with various interviews, has reportedly compromised the family's trust in him, as he made serious allegations against senior royals.
Despite these challenges, friends of Harry believe that nothing would bring him greater joy than mending his relationship with his father, King Charles, and brother, Prince William. One close friend remarked, "At the end of the day, you can’t undo bloodlines. He isn’t asking his dad for a nicer house or cars; he’s asking for reconciliation based on the reality of their situation. He is at risk."
