Rumors are swirling about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry officially divorcing.
The tweet that ignited these rumors. A Royal commentator from Barister Law USA claimed, “I just got notice Prince Harry filed for divorce. It’s official.” This speculation was further fueled by reports from Tribes Britannia and the local Montesito Journal, suggesting that Harry and Meghan are going their separate ways.
I went to the Montesito Journal’s website to investigate and found an article by Richard Minyard. It details Prince Harry’s solo appearance at the WellChild Awards in London, along with Meghan’s outing with Girls Inc. The article notes that this is the second public appearance without Harry since Meghan’s visit to a children’s hospital on October 5. As British royal experts speculate, it seems Harry and Meghan are leading increasingly separate lives.
They’re mostly echoing the opinions of others regarding the couple’s rumored separation.
What are your thoughts on this? The Vintage Read Show suggested that Harry and Meghan are indeed separated but won’t officially announce a divorce until they’ve settled their financial matters. What do you think?
I agree that they don’t appear to be a happy couple. Many YouTubers have pointed this out as well. It’s worth mentioning that divorce laws vary across the U.S. For instance, in Maryland, there’s a mandatory separation period before filing for divorce, but California is different. You can file for divorce anytime, but you must wait six months for the case to be heard by a family law judge.
I think you’re correct in saying they may be sorting out their financials before making any official moves. I looked through the court database in Santa Barbara County, where they reside, but didn’t find any divorce filings under their names. However, they could be using different names or have filed in another jurisdiction.
It’s also essential to note that if they do decide to divorce, they’ll likely keep the process private and handle their finances and child custody first. Given their celebrity status, it makes sense for them to file in Santa Barbara, as the local courts know how to manage paparazzi.
The situation could be tragic for their children. Typically, family law proceedings prioritize the best interests of the child, and a judge would likely ensure the kids have access to both parents. Depending on how things unfold, it’s conceivable the kids could spend time in both California and the U.K.
So, while I believe they have officially separated and are living separate lives, we currently have no solid evidence of a divorce. Would you agree?
Absolutely. Until we see actual documentation filed in a California court, it’s all speculation. Once paperwork is submitted, we’ll likely hear about it quickly. There’s no requirement for them to have a trial separation first; they could file whenever they want.
