Royal commentator Ingrid Seward has voiced her opinions on this matter, drawing comparisons between Meghan's experience in Australia and those of her husband, Prince Harry, and father-in-law, King Charles. She shared her insights during a recent interview with *The Sun*.
In that conversation, Seward described the last few days as “eye-opening” for Meghan, especially when reflecting on her first overseas tour to Australia with Prince Harry. For context, King Charles is currently visiting Australia with his wife, Queen Camilla.
Seward contends that Meghan has been taken aback, realizing that after “playing the part of the princess,” she is not the “star of the show” but rather just “a cog in the wheel.”
She remarked, “It was a monumental trip when Harry and Meghan went in 2018, and Meghan announced her pregnancy while they were there. I think the Australians were very flattered by that, and she played her part brilliantly. They were young and fresh.”
However, Seward suggests that Meghan may not have perceived the situation in the same light. “I think she enjoyed the adulation. She enjoyed playing the part of the princess as she saw it,” she explained.
“But I also think it was a bit of a shock. She was being told what to do. She was being told where to go, and she was being told how to do it. And she wasn't taking a starring role,” Seward concluded.
