Nacho Figueras SLAMS Prince Harry's Netflix Polo Doc: 'A Lot of BS' Revealed in Shocking Interview

Nacho Figueras SLAMS Prince Harry's Netflix Polo Doc: 'A Lot of BS' Revealed in Shocking Interview

Nacho Figueras recently made waves during an interview discussing the upcoming Netflix documentary on polo, but his comments may not have gone over as intended. One might assume that when given a chance to promote your sport on a major platform, you'd stick to a polished script. However, Nacho decided to take a different route, leaving Netflix executives likely feeling frustrated.

The interview began with a female host asking Nacho for an insider's perspective on the new series. All he needed to do was flash that charming smile and provide engaging remarks to give Netflix a nice PR boost. But instead, he went off-script, launching into a vague rant about “BS” and expressing his love for the attention, regardless of whether it was positive or negative. “There’s no such thing as bad press,” he declared. This kind of statement surely sent corporate sponsors and network executives into a panic.

Netflix executives must have been thrilled to hear their polo poster boy essentially label the highly-anticipated documentary as “a load of BS,” effectively undermining the project before its release. It's not like they were counting on the series to be a success or anything. What a way to show your sponsors just how articulate and media-savvy you are!

He attempted to backtrack, clarifying that the documentary focuses on the U.S. Open and not primarily on Prince Harry, who is, let's be honest, the only reason anyone would bother tuning in. Nacho insisted the spotlight is on the players and the game, not on himself or Harry. However, it’s hard to downplay Harry’s star power, as he is the main draw for this polo doc. Polo may not be the Super Bowl, but dismissing the one notable attraction seems like a questionable move.

What’s even more puzzling is how out of touch Nacho seemed during the interview. As people in the southern regions grapple with hurricanes and losing their homes, he was discussing a sport that many view as exclusive, featuring affluent players riding horses and hitting balls. This hardly seems relevant to the current state of the world.

According to insiders, Netflix was already annoyed with the direction this show was taking, and Nacho's interview likely sealed its fate. Rumor has it that the documentary focuses too much on him and his polo pals, diverting attention from Harry, who was supposed to be the main attraction. Viewers didn’t tune in to watch Nacho mumble through interviews and matches; while he may be easy on the eyes, as one insider noted, his broken English and lack of mainstream appeal won’t bring in the ratings.

If people were hoping for a documentary rich in royal drama and Harry-centric moments, they may be in for a disappointment. Instead, they’ll receive a behind-the-scenes look at a sport that doesn’t garner much interest, led by someone not known for his storytelling prowess.

Now Netflix is likely left wondering what went wrong. They signed a deal with Harry, anticipating some royal magic, but what they got instead is a lackluster project. With the deal set to expire soon, they need a hit, but unfortunately, this documentary is shaping up to be a major flop. Nacho's interview certainly didn't help matters, as he managed to undermine his own project while likely upsetting a slew of executives in the process.
