Prince Harry Defends Meghan Markle Against King Charles' Disrespect. Prince Harry took a stand for his wife, Meghan Markle, after King Charles showed disrespect toward her.
During his visit to the UK following Queen Elizabeth II’s passing, Harry received an invitation to Balmoral Castle, where the Queen spent her final moments. However, he was told that Meghan was not welcome.
A furious Harry confronted his father, insisting that he treat Meghan with the respect she deserves. In his memoir *Spare*, he recounted the exchange: “He said I was welcome at Balmoral, but he didn't want... her. He started to lay out his reason, which was nonsensical and disrespectful, and I wasn't having it."
Harry emphasized, “Don't ever speak about my wife that way.” He went on to explain that King Charles seemed apologetic, claiming he wanted to keep the gathering small. “No other wives were coming; Kate wasn’t coming,” he said, “therefore Meg shouldn't. Then that’s all you needed to say.”
Interestingly, it was revealed that Harry’s sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, also did not visit Balmoral, opting to stay home with their young children instead.
