Prince William surprised fans with an unexpected social media move during his recent trip to Northern Ireland.
The Prince of Wales, who skipped King Charles III’s birthday celebration to visit Ulster University, made headlines with his first-ever TikTok video, where he issued an apology.
The future king, who has been rumored to be considering a reconciliation with his estranged brother, Prince Harry, embraced a modern royal approach with this surprising move. On Thursday, William made his TikTok debut, showcasing a more casual side of the monarchy.
In the video shared by student Samantha Johnson, Prince William offered an apology in a light-hearted moment. When Johnson asked William to explain why she would be late for her lecture, the royal’s response was gracious and humorous.
He said: "Leslie, I’m very sorry we’re late, but they seem to be caught up and wouldn’t believe you were here, so just saying 'Hi'."
The royal’s down-to-earth response delighted fans, who commented on how refreshing it was to see such a relaxed interaction. One viewer noted: "Interactions with royals are getting more and more unserious, and I love that for them," while another added: "Amazing that the future King is so down-to-earth."
Kate Middleton also shared a memorable moment from William's outing. In another video, the heir to the throne was seen hopping onto the back of a stationary motorbike while testing the special effects in the Virtual Production Studio at the Belfast City Campus.
