The first lady of the United States, Melania Trump, said today that she has "much more important things" to think about than the alleged infidelities of her husband, Donald Trump, and stated that, despite the rumors, the couple is not going through a crisis. "I am a mother and a first lady, so I have much more important things to think about," Melania replied when asked about her husband's alleged extramarital affairs during an interview with ABC News. Melania also acknowledged that "it is not always pleasant" to have to face these types of allegations, but said she knows how to discern between "what is right and what is wrong, between what is true and what is not."
Since Trump assumed the Presidency in January 2017, two women have claimed to have had sexual relations with the president when he was already married to Melania, the former Playboy model Karen McDougal and the porn actress Stormy Daniels. Donald Trump Daniels has been at open war with the White House ever since she expressed her desire to publish a book detailing her encounters with the billionaire, while McDougal has even claimed that her relationship with Trump occurred when Melania was pregnant with Baron, the couple's only child.
Although the president has always denied having had relations with these two women, he has admitted to having authorized the payment of $130,000 to Daniels, whose book went on sale on October 2, to buy her silence. Despite the notoriety of these accusations and the fact that her husband has admitted to having paid such a sum to silence one of the women, Melania stressed today that she is not worried and that she does not pay attention to this matter: "I am very strong and I know what my priorities are," she said.
