Meghan Markle's best looks in a low-cost version
That Meghan Markle's wardrobe is one of the most desired is nothing new. The Duchess of Sussex has managed to create her own style between royal and celebrity, whose fascination is already compared to that generated by Lady Di in her day. But not everything has been praise for the new tenant of Buckingham: the high spending on clothing - she loves the big (and very expensive) brands like Givenchy or Jimmy Choo - has cost her the suspicion of a good part of public opinion. Although as we have come to demonstrate, it is not necessary to spend a fortune to dress like Meghan Markle. Here is a replica of her 5 most viral looks, ideal for spring, and at a low-cost price.
THE PERFECT SPRING DRESS
This was one of the most talked about and celebrated looks of the Duchess of Sussex, especially for her Altuzarra dress (677 euros), which with a square neckline, belt and front buttons continues to generate a wave of clones. We found ours at Mango, for 49.99 euros. The Camila and Marc blazer over her shoulders gives her that chic touch that Meghan masters so well, not to mention the high heels with double straps and the striped bag. Our alternative: a blazer with jewel buttons from Zara (79.95 euros), New Look pumps, on sale at Asos for 33.99 euros and a Zara crossbody bag (ideal!) for 25.95 euros.
IN A WORKING KEY
With a bottle green shirt, leather skirt and light coat, the Duchess of Sussex gives us an effective mid-season outfit, which months later is more fashionable than ever. Green is in and leather is one of the trendiest fabrics. More pros: the nude shoes, a common resource for Meghan to stylize her legs, we take note! Our affordable version consists of a Zara shirt (22.95 euros), almost identical to the royal's, which although also low cost (it was from &Other Stories) sold out in record time; a cream coat from Mango (49.99) and a pencil skirt from Vila Chothes (27.95 euros), on sale at Zalando. As accessories we chose a matching bag from Top Shop (34 euros) and some very high stilettos from H&M (59.99).
GALA NIGHT
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex at the Endeavour Fund Awards. A gala event in which Meghan pulled out basics (and Givenchy) to give us a 10/10 maternity look. Using two eternal elements of the fashion imagination: the classic shirt and the black and white combination, she knew how to shine without any headaches. So now you know, take your shirt out of the closet, or get this one from H&M (14.99 euros) and combine it with a black skirt, we love this satin one from Zara (25.95 euros). And for an evening event, nothing like finishing off with some jeweled shoes, like these from Uterqüe (89 euros).
Very summery
Among the great array of looks from the Duchess on her tour of Oceania, we're going with this one for three reasons: a long linen dress is always the perfect resource to combat the heat with style, vertical stripes suit the silhouette wonderfully and flat sandals from Sarah Flint (the shoe brand that celebrities love) are a plus. Not everything is going to be very high heels. We suggest: a dress from Miss Selfridge (54.95 euros) in pastel tones; and sandals (35.95 euros) and a raffia bag from Zara (29.95 euros). Ahh...and don't forget the ballerina pink manicure, the royals' favourite colour.
Yes to white trousers
This was the look Meghan Markle chose to wear to the big British tennis event, the Wimbledon tournament. Not only the perfect showcase for the best rackets but also for summer trends in a British key. Her choice? Again, very elegant and uncomplicated: flowing white trousers, a striped shirt by Ralph Lauren and a Borsalino-style hat. We've looked at our favourite shops for an interpretation: trousers from Uniqlo (29.90 euros), shirt from Stradivarius (17.99 euros), bag from Mango (19.99 euros) and hat from H&M (9.99 euros).
