The Prince and Princess of Wales Share 2024 Christmas Card Featuring Their Children*
The Prince and Princess of Wales have unveiled their 2024 Christmas card, offering a delightful glimpse of the royal family. The card, a first of its kind, features an animated image derived from a video released by the Princess of Wales in September.
In the charming photo, Prince William and Princess Kate are seated on a hay bale alongside their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
Meanwhile, 11-year-old Prince George, who is now nearly as tall as his mother, is seen dressed casually in a blue T-shirt. His siblings, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6, look equally adorable, with Charlotte wearing a white blouse and Louis in summer shorts. The family’s festive message reads: “Wishing everyone a very happy Christmas 🎄.”
The video, from which the image was taken, was shot by Will Warr and Norick. It originally shared the news of the Princess of Wales completing her preventive chemotherapy for cancer. In the footage, the royal family was captured in heartwarming moments around their country estate, Amner Hall. Scenes included a dog walk in the nearby woodlands and a beach outing with the children.
Princess Kate also opened up about her relief following her treatment, expressing her commitment to staying cancer-free. She remarked, “Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long, and I must continue to take each day as it comes.”
This Christmas card was released shortly after the family attended Kate’s annual Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey. The service honored individuals who have demonstrated love, kindness, and empathy within their communities.
This year’s festive family photo stands in contrast to the more artistic black-and-white image shared in 2023, taken by renowned fashion and portrait photographer Josh Shinner. In 2022, the family shared a summer snapshot taken in Windsor, while their 2021 card featured a holiday photo from their private trip to Petra, Jordan.
Adding to the festive spirit, King Charles and Queen Camilla also shared their Christmas card for the year. Their photograph, taken by Millie Pilkington in the gardens of Buckingham Palace in April, marked the first anniversary of Charles’s coronation.
