Meghan Markle Confronts Oprah: Demands Answers Over Erased Interview

Meghan Markle Confronts Oprah: Demands Answers Over Erased Interview

It seems Oprah has decided to act like Harry and Meghan's controversial interview never happened. Just a few years ago, this was hailed as *the* interview of the century. Oprah probably envisioned herself being remembered as the fearless journalist who exposed the monarchy in one groundbreaking sit-down. Instead, she ended up tangled in a web of questionable claims that even the most sympathetic viewers couldn’t overlook.

At the time, Oprah was practically giddy at the chance to interview the Sussexes. She likely thought this moment would cement her legacy as the bold woman who took on the royal family. Maybe she hoped to become the next Martin Bashir. But instead of earning praise, she found herself facing backlash as the interview unraveled under scrutiny.

One of Meghan’s claims was about a “private ceremony” before the royal wedding—something quickly debunked by the Archbishop of Canterbury. Then there was the allegation that her son Archie wasn’t given a princely title due to racism, which completely ignored royal protocols that have existed for centuries. A quick fact-check would have clarified this, but it seems Oprah chose not to dig too deep.

What started as a potential bombshell revelation quickly devolved into a PR disaster. Journalists began picking apart the interview, pointing out inconsistencies. Oprah, clearly recognizing that she had waded into murky waters, tried to backtrack. It’s likely she wished she had stuck to safer topics like her more serious interviews on social issues rather than diving into royal drama.

But the fallout wasn’t just about getting the facts wrong—it was about being swept up in the narrative Meghan and Harry wanted to tell. Oprah seemed eager to leverage the couple’s claims to amplify racial tensions and critique the monarchy. Instead, she ended up amplifying a string of inaccuracies that were discredited almost immediately.

Now, it appears Oprah is trying to distance herself from the entire episode. It’s like she wants to erase the interview from existence, as though it’s a forgotten season of *The Oprah Winfrey Show*.

And here’s the ironic twist: Oprah probably thought aligning with Meghan and Harry would give her an “in” with the royal family—perhaps even Queen Elizabeth herself. Maybe she imagined being seen as a close ally of Meghan, warmly embraced by royal circles. Instead, her reputation took a hit, and she’s been left looking foolish for enabling a media frenzy that backfired spectacularly.

Let’s not forget Harry’s role in all this. He’s equally responsible for the fallout. It’s clear he bought into Meghan’s narrative of “us against the world,” and now he’s stuck in the same mess. Years of feeling overshadowed within his royal family made him ripe for this divisive storyline, and Oprah’s platform became the stage for airing it all.

But here’s the kicker: Oprah now seems to want the world to forget this debacle. She’s stepped back from Harry and Meghan, hoping people won’t associate her with the most awkward chapter of her career. Unfortunately for her, the internet has a long memory.

Like it or not, this interview is now part of Oprah’s legacy. For better or worse, she’ll always be tied to the couple who brought chaos into the royal narrative—and into her own career. It’s a harsh lesson, but one Oprah should have learned before giving such a platform to what turned out to be a royal PR disaster.
