Meghan Markle's Christmas Ultimatum to Prince Harry Following Family Guy Parody
As the festive season approached in 2023, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle found themselves in the midst of a tense situation, reportedly fueled by a biting Family Guy parody that left the couple feeling deeply unsettled.
The animated show took aim at the Sussexes in a scene that depicted them relaxing by a pool while a butler delivers them their “millions from Netflix for… no one knows what.” In the sketch, a cartoon version of Harry responds with, “Put it with the rest of them,” as Meghan tells him, “Babe, time to do our daily $250,000 sponsored Instagram post for Del Taco.”
Sources close to the couple suggested that the parody hit hard, leaving Meghan and Harry in “panic mode.” An insider revealed that the episode resonated deeply with the couple, reinforcing negative perceptions of them as “self-entitled grifters” or “spoiled brats.” The source continued, “Meghan said she won’t be humiliated like this and is desperate for a solution. They're in full panic mode.”
Further fueling the tension, reports claimed the Sussexes were aware of their declining popularity in the U.S. The source added, “The tides have turned against them in America.”
While Meghan reportedly wasn’t interested in asking the royal family for any help after the ongoing drama, she did want Harry to reconcile with his father, King Charles, and older brother, Prince William. A source close to the couple told *Closer*, “Meghan has distanced herself from the furore for months, but now she’s giving Harry an ultimatum and demanding that he do whatever it takes to fix things.”
The Sussex Family’s Christmas in Montecito
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex ultimately spent Christmas 2023 in Montecito, California, with their two children, Archie, five, and Lilibet, three, as well as Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland. Reflecting on their holiday traditions in a recent interview with *Marie Claire*, Meghan shared her love for the festive season and how it’s evolved since moving to the U.S.
She explained, “Every year it gets better,” as her children grow older and start to understand more about the holidays. “At first, I think as a mum with children, you're just enjoying having them there, but they're not understanding everything that's happening yet. But now we're at the age where I just can't wait to see it through their lens every year.”
Meghan also touched on their Thanksgiving traditions, saying, “We’re always making sure we have something fun to do. Like any other family, you spend time having a great meal, and then what do you do? Play games, all the same stuff, someone brings a guitar—fun."
