Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Face Criticism After Polo Documentary Release

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have come under fire following the release of their new documentary on polo, which debuted on Netflix.

According to royal expert Charlotte Griffiths, the five-part series may be the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s “last chance” to establish Archewell as a successful TV production brand.

Griffiths didn’t hold back, dismissing the documentary as "a load of old tosh" and criticizing its disconnect with everyday viewers. She pointed out the irony of the Sussexes promoting Archewell’s mission of “truthful and relatable content” while offering a show that many felt was out of touch.

One notable criticism was the minimal involvement of Harry himself in the documentary, with no members of the royal family appearing at all.

Speaking to GB News, Griffiths compared the documentary to a blend of *Selling Sunset* and *Made in Wrexham*, but with far less emotional investment. "In *Made in Wrexham*, you're really rooting for the boys to succeed with the football club," she explained. "But with the polo players, it doesn't matter."

Griffiths further emphasized the lack of connection between the players and the show, pointing out how one participant didn’t even know the names of his horses. “If you have four horses, you'd learn their names. It's not that hard, is it?" she said.

She also noted that Netflix had been expecting more from the couple, particularly more content featuring Meghan and Harry, as such content tends to perform well. “When Netflix gave them this deal, they were hoping for lots of Meghan and Harry content, because that does very well," Griffiths explained.

In the end, she suggested that the success or failure of the documentary was crucial for Archewell’s future as a TV production entity. "It’s probably their last chance to keep Archewell as a really successful TV production brand," Griffiths concluded. "So, there’s a lot riding on the new year."
