King Charles Makes Sweet Gesture for ‘Estranged Son’ Prince Harry
Prince Harry recently shared an exciting announcement about a special project that reconnects him with his royal roots.
The Duke of Sussex, who co-founded the Invictus Games foundation in 2014 alongside his father, King Charles, and brother, Prince William, revealed much-anticipated news following a recent organizational change.
The Invictus Games has officially appointed a new CEO after the departure of Dominic Reid OBE. Rob Owen OBE will take over the reins from Reid in late February 2025.
“The Board of Trustees is thrilled to welcome Rob Owen OBE as our new CEO,” the foundation’s statement read. “Rob’s proven track record in building strong partnerships, fostering inclusive workplace cultures, and driving innovative funding mechanisms makes him the ideal choice to lead the Foundation into its next chapter.”
The statement continued, “As we look ahead to the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 this February, we are excited for Rob to build on the incredible momentum and global impact that Dominic Reid has established over the past decade.”
This announcement coincides with a touching gesture from King Charles towards his estranged son, despite their well-documented differences.
At Highgrove House, Charles’ beloved Gloucestershire home, a special area has been dedicated to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. A visitor spotted a wedding photo of the couple displayed in a seating area at the front of Highgrove. Alongside it were a picture of King Charles with his two sons in military uniform and a portrait from Charles and Queen Camilla’s coronation.
While reports suggest that relations between the King and his younger son may be improving, it remains uncertain if the two will manage another meeting when Prince Harry returns to the UK next year.
